Early Childhood

Is your child getting the best possible start in life?

The ECI approach is about giving your child the best possible start in all aspects of their life.

At SensesWA our team is highly skilled in child development and working with families to facilitate this best possible start. We take the time to really get to know your child and family and importantly, to know your child’s strengths, interests and how they learn.

Our team understands that children learn best and develop most quickly by having any support they may need delivered in regular, natural, everyday settings. Therapy can be delivered at home and in many other settings that are natural for infants and young children, such as childcare centres, at playgroup, in kindergarten or at school, or anywhere they play with family or friends. Adults who surround them…. the child’s circle of support and security, can be included in our therapy sessions and given information, tools and support to help facilitate and nurture the child’s development and participation.

When you work with SensesWA you, as a parent, become part of our team around your child. We work together with you to identify the goals for your child and you, and then design and deliver the most successful strategies to maximise your child’s development and learning opportunities throughout their day. It’s about using everyday opportunities, because no one has a 25th hour in the day to ‘do’ therapy.

We provide support, assessment, advice and strategies to promote child development and learning. It’s all about environment of family, fun, fitness, function, friends, and the future.

It is important that we develop a shared vision and clear goals and understand what is most important to you for your child’s participation in family, school and community life.

” Working together with a young child and their family in play at home can bring out so many skills we would otherwise not see. This is a key part of our Early Intervention Approach at SensesWA. Engaging positively with their family, in a familiar space is the best way to see a child progress and have some fun along the way.” Adele – Senior Occupational Therapist
